Developing a Grants Strategy
Review the excellent "Build Your Grants Strategy" Guide. "This guide will help you establish a grants program so that you can keep your grantseeking focused on the opportunities and the tasks that will efficiently lead you to winning awards."
Use your CUNY Login (same as CUNY First) to log onto Chronicle of Philanthropy. Go to Grants and Click on Get Started with Grants Station. Then select "Build Your Grants Strategy" in the upper right portion of the screen.
Develop a Project Description and Identify Keywords:
Use the Project Description Worksheet to think about elements of your project, the type of funding that you need, and some keywords to help you find the grants that you need: https://grantstation.com/build-strategy/project-worksheet
Watch the video below for tips on how to log in and to access the Build Your Grant Strategies Guide page. Click on the full screen icon to clearly see the video.
Geographic Scope: Select both National and the State(s) where you work.
Other Terms: Selecting more terms will narrow your results. Broaden your results by deselecting any terms
Watch the quick video below for information on how to create your own account using your Lehman email. This account enables you to save grants and funder information.
Grant Forward requires a Lehman email address to create an account. Once logged in, you'll be able to save searches and create lists of funders related to your projects.
Categories: Selecting categories will help focus your search
Select Status: Options are Open, Continuous, and Closed. If your project is long-term you can select all three to have the broadest search.
