Most scholarly information available online is not free to read. The subscription journal articles and eBooks you can access through the library are paid out of the library's budget and only individuals affiliated to Lehman College (students, faculty, staff) have access to them.
However, there is a growing body of scholarly information such as journals and books that is legally available to read by anyone online. This is called open access. Much of the scholarly information published in Latin America is published open access, so knowing where to look for these resources can be important for your studies and research in Latin American Studies.
