Legal Dictionaries and Encylopedias are useful reference tools because they provide a brief introcution into areas of law and include citations and other information about the topic. Legal Encylopedias are unique because although organized much like a general Encylopedia, they provide an outline of each topic that includes a brief "scope" that will tell you what the article covers. This "scope" note is important because it may also help you find different resources for your research.
