American Anthropological Association
The AAA is the largest professional association in the field of anthropology. The web site offers a great deal of information about the association, its activities and the field of anthropology in general.

Searches using Google or other search engines can be used to find websites but it is up to you to evaluate the content for its accuracy or value. The sites listed below may be useful to you during your research.

American Folklife Center
Compiled by the Library of Congress, this site provides resources on anthropology and folklore and includes recordings, webcasts and a searchable database.
Annual Review of Anthropology
The Annual Review of Anthropology, in publication since 1972, covers significant developments in the subfields of Anthropology, including archaeology, biological anthropology, linguistics and communicative practices, regional studies and international anthropology, and sociocultural anthropology.
Anthropological Papers of the American Museum of Natural History
The Anthropological Papers have been published continuously since 1907. Contains monographic volumes that include some of the great ethnographies of the 20th century, particularly on North American Indians. Contains links to full-text papers.
National Archeological Database
provides GIS layers related to archeological data. The GIS maps show national distributions of cultural and environmental resources across the United States.
National Anthropological Archives and Human Studies Film Archives
This site, managed by the Smithsonian department of Anthropology, Collections and Archives Program collects and preserves historical and contemporary anthropological materials. Their collections represent the four fields of anthropology – ethnology, linguistics, archaeology, and physical anthropology – and include fieldnotes, journals, manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, maps, sound recordings, film and video created by Smithsonian anthropologists and other preeminent scholars.
The Archaeology Channel
Provides a variety of media sources devoted to archaeology.
Center for the Study of the First Americans
The Center for the Study of the First Americans explores the questions surrounding the peopling of the Americas.
Southeast Asian Archaeology Scholarly Website
Run by the University of Pennsylvania Museum, this project includes a web-based bibliography and a set of archaeological databases on Southeast Asia
African Diaspora Archaeology Network
The ADAN provides a focal point for archaeological and interdisciplinary studies of African diasporas, with news, current research, information and links to other web resources related to the archaeology and history of descendants of African peoples.
