Leonard Lief Library News and Updates

Open Access Publishing Agreement with the American Chemical Society

by John DeLooper on 2024-09-23T10:16:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

The Leonard Lief Library announces  a new agreement with the American Chemical Society (ACS) to allow CUNY-affiliated authors to publish their articles open-access with no additional charges.

Previously, many ACS publications charged fees to the author known as article processing charges or APCs when publishing open source. This new agreement with ACS removes the APC fee for CUNY authors.

In other words, CUNY- affiliated authors who submit manuscripts to ACS journals will now have the option to make their article available open access at no extra cost upon publication.

Note: This agreement only applies to submitting corresponding authors who are affiliated with institutions listed on the agreement details page.

A full list of eligible ACS publications can be viewed at this link.
