Library Resources for Students

This guide will go over library resources most commonly used by students.

How do I borrow items from the library?

Students who wish to borrow items must go to the Circulation/Reserves Desk in the library, and should bring their Lehman College ID. Online students can also use the Virtual ID found in Lehman 360.

What can be borrowed, and for how long?

The library makes a wide variety of items available for students to borrow. We have books, reserve books, laptops, iPads, headphones, and calculators.

  • Books
  • Reserve Textbooks
    • Reserve materials are available for use only in the Library, and are limited to a two-hour period. The Library also maintains an electronic reserve collection at http://libguides.lehman.edu/er.php.
  • Reference Books
    • This category includes items such as encyclopedias and other specialized sources. These can only be used in the library.
  • Laptops
  • iPads
    • Purchased with Student Technology Fees, the Library has iPads and iPad Minis available for two-day loan. iPads have been preloaded with 30 apps. Students are not permitted to add additional apps.
  • Headphones
    • Headphones can be borrowed for three hours of in-library use.
  • Calculators/Chargers
    • Calculators can be borrowed for up to four hours, and can be taken out of the library for tests or assignments. Detail
