This guide provides an overview of foreign language education resources located through the Leonard Lief Library at Lehman College.

Welcome to the Leonard Lief Library.

You can use the tabs of this research guide to find books, articles in databases, journals in your field, and resources on the web. There are also tools to help you with citations.

You can also search the library website directly by going to: https://www.lehman.edu/library/

Off-Campus Access

From off-campus, Lehman users will be prompted to log into databases, e-journals, e-books, and other subscription resources via their CUNYFirst Credentials.

Your CUNYFirst Credentials are the same as your BlackBoard/Brightspace Credentials.

  • To login, enter your CUNY Login Credentials, which are you CUNYFirst or BlackBoard Credentials
  • You must have an active CUNY First Account
  • To report a problem, please select Forget Username or Forget Password 
  • If you do not have CUNYFirst credentials and should have off-campus access, please fill the report a technical problem form

Research Begins

Good Starting Points for Research:

  • Encyclopedias and handbooks have excellent background articles with bibliographies.
  • Use these books for definitions and to find vocubulary for search terms.
