The videos and activities below have been created to help you be able to identify children's books for your assignments. You will learn how to access books in the Children's Books: Content Area Themes and Topics Research Guide, to use the OneSearch discovery tool, and to find digital books through Lehman and at other online resources.

Finding Children's Books Research Tutorial

The video below, "Using the Children's Books: Content Area Themes and Topics Guide" provides an overview on how to use the guide to find books on a theme or topic. Click here to access the guide: https://libguides.lehman.edu/ChildrensBooksThemes

Make sure that you jot down titles and authors of books that are of interest to you, so that you can easily find digital versions of the books.

 

The video below "Finding Digital Children's Books" demonstrates how to log into the Lehman College eBooks Academic Collection database from the Children's Themes Research Guide. Finding children's books and author resources on the internet is also demonstrated.

You can also search for children's books in OneSearch. The "Searching for Children's Books in One Search" video shows you how to limit your search to children's books using the advanced search screen. You will also learn how to use subject headings to navigate OneSearch to find other resources.
