The Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs promotes the well-being of immigrant communities by recommending policies and programs that facilitate successful integration of immigrant New Yorkers into the civic, economic, and cultural life of the City.
The New York City Commission on Human Rights is charged with the enforcement of the Human Rights Law, Title 8 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York, and with educating the public and encouraging positive community relations.
Uses Census information and other federal and local data to take a detailed look at the origins, spatial settlement, other characteristics of the foreign-born population and languages spoken at home by neighborhood/ZIP codes of residence in New York City and in the larger metropolitan region.
