The Bronx Borough President's Veteran Advisory Council provides the Office of the Bronx Borough President with insight into issues of importance to our borough’s veterans, celebrates and honors the patriotic service of our borough’s veterans, both past and present, and serves as an advocate on issues that impact the quality of life of all Bronx veterans and their families.
Per Scholas selected by Microsoft to train veterans for jobs
On Veterans Day 2010, Microsoft Corp. announced the recipients of its Elevate America veterans initiative grants and the availability of new education, job training and placement programs to help give veterans and their spouses the skills and resources they need to be successful in today's civilian work force. Per Scholas Inc. was one of only six organizations to receive these grants.
To honor the sacrifice of New York City Veterans, Mayor Bill de Blasio created the Department of Veterans' Services (DVS) on April 8th, 2016, making DVS the first standalone City agency in the country dedicated to serving Veterans and their families.
