What is Microfilm?

Microfilm is a reel of film where images of printed material have been photographed at a reduced size for compact storage. Microfilm machines magnify the images for reading and are available in the Periodicals Room, located in the Concourse level, south.

Microfilm Holdings for the Congressional Record:

*Congressional Globe - December 1833 to March 1873

*Congressional Record - December 1, 1873 to 1976

The Congressional Record is available on microfilm, located in the Periodicals Room, Concourse level, across the entrance hallway from the public service counter.

Microfilm machines are available in the Peridicals Room for viewing and printing.

Printing is 10 cents a sheet.
