Need to text or conference call, in addition to Zoom, there are several other resources that may help with staying in contact with students:

Call and text with a US number online.

HD audio conferencing, screen sharing and video conferencing with up to 1000 participants. Account required.

Teaching via Video

Zoom
CUNY's license for Zoom allows for 25 video streams simultaneously and up to 100 audio participants. Use your CUNY login information at cuny.zoom.us to access your Zoom account for free. CUNY's subscription includes polling, breakout rooms and live transcriptions.. Lehman Zoom Support Site
Blackboard Collaborate Ultra
Videoconferencing tool from Blackboard. Built into all online classes.
VoiceThread
Software for recording videos, adding commentary, and more. Includes Blackboard Integration.
Camtasia
Camtasia is Mac/Windows software for recording screencasts and editing video. Videos can be sent directly to YouTube or integrated with Google Drive. Camtasia is the high end of a suite of screen capture products.
SnagIt!
ensing to allow faculty to create, edit and share screen captures and recordings. Snagit screen captures can be edited and annotated for use in other applications, compiled into standalone video vignettes or added to a Camtasia instructional video. These Snagit screen captures can be distributed directly, shared using CUNY-provided cloud storage services like Dropbox or OneDrive, shared in Blackboard, or played during Blackboard Collaborate and Zoom online meetings.
Yuja
Online video repository software. Allows for storing and sharing streaming videos (similar to YouTube). Includes closed captioning functionality and Blackboard integration.

Meet via video from within web browsers.

Sharing Videos, Documents, and Readings

Library E-Reserves
The Library can help host readings and other materials for your class. Request to put library materials on reserve.
DropBox
Cloud service for storing and sharing files. Also includes Dropbox Paper, a tool for collaborative work. Uses CUNYFirst Login.
Office 365 for Education/OneDrive
Allows users to store and share files (1TB storage limit). Also includes free versions of Microsoft Office Online or via download for CUNY students and employees.
