While the College is closed - Leonard Lief Library offers a variety of services for student use. Resources such as articles from databases, eBooks, and streaming videos can be accessed from off- campus. Library faculty are working offsite and can be reached through 24/7 Chat or by calling and leaving a message at 718-960-7765.
In the interest of our community's health and safety - NO ONE will be permitted on the Lehman College campus without a scheduled appointment, except for assigned, essential staff.
As such - the Library building will remain closed until further notice.
ID Activation - Accessing Databases/Articles/Journals From Off Campus
Lehman students, faculty, and staff should make sure their ID cards are activated. Patrons can check whether their ID is active by logging into your library account.
If this login does not work - please fill out this form and a library staff member will follow up to activate your access.
Previously Borrowed Books and Equipment
Books and other materials currently borrowed will renew automatically. In addition - all CUNY students, faculty, and staff will have up to 9 additional renewals.
Fines will not accumulate while the Library is closed.
Books on Reserve
While the Building is closed - Reserve Books cannot be physically accessed. Some faculty have reported receiving electronic copies from textbook publishers. Faculty are encouraged to adopt Open Educational Resources for required readings.
E-Reserves functionality remains available. Faculty and staff can electronically send materials to be added to E-Reserve to Angelina Brea. In addition - documents and videos can often be uploaded and shared via services like Blackboard, Office 365 OneDrive, Dropbox, and many other tools.
Requests made to obtain materials from other CUNY libraries will not be possible for as long as the Library is closed. Interlibrary Loan book requests via ILLiad will be processed when the Library building reopens. In the meantime - articles can still be requested.
