Introduction to Psychology (PSY 166): Find Scholarly Articles

This guide was created to help orient you to psychology research and Lehman library resources and services.

What are scholarly/peer-reviewed articles?

As a student at Lehman you'll most likely be asked by professors to find and use "peer-reviewed" sources for your research assignments. Peer-reviewed sources are typically articles in scholarly/academic journals, written and reviewed by experts in a subject area like sociology. If you're unfamiliar with the term "peer-reviewed," please check out the below link leading you to a helpful guide about this type of source!

Psychology Databases

The Library subscribes to many databases (online collections of information) that you can use to find peer-reviewed articles in scholarly journals. You can access our full list of psychology databases here.

Tip! Students, faculty, and staff can access databases from off-campus by using their CUNY Credentials: firstname.lastname##@login.cuny.edu. This is the same login used to access Blackboard and CUNYFirst.
