Finding Journals

The Leonard Lief Library offers thousands of scholarly journals to support research.

While many journal articles can now be found via your computer in databases or electronic journals, there are still many journals that are available only in print.

This guide will teach you how to find a specific journal (or article, if you have a full citation). Use the tabs above to learn how to search for e-journals (ones available online) or print journals (ones available in print form).

What You'll Need

A complete citation for a journal article is a powerful piece of information.  It tells us the author of the piece, the title of the article, the name of the journal, the volume and issue in which this article appeared, and the page numbers of the article.  If you have a citation (like the one below), you are ready to get started!

Bailey, C. (2010). Supersizing America: Fatness and post-9/11 cultural anxieties. Journal of Popular Culture, 43(3), 441-462.

Alternatively, if you just have the name of a journal (such as Journal of Applied Social Psychology), you can browse available issues of that title.
