Let's Get Digital!: Virtual Reference, RefWorks and the Mobile Web: Let's Get Digital!

Guide to information and links mentioned in the Leonard Lief Library's Spring 2011 Collection Development Event, April 13, 2011

Let's Get Digital!

The Library’s Collection Development event gives us an opportunity each semester to introduce new services to the Lehman community.

We’ve launched Virtual Reference to extend our reach to Lehman patrons with online chat 24-7-365. This is yet another way to push services to you and make them available in multiple formats and contexts.

We’ll be demonstrating Mobile Web services. In fact, Lehman will be the first CUNY campus to offer Information Literacy sessions on mobile devices.

Lastly, when you’re working on articles – RefWorks is an effective tool which greatly facilitates preparation of online Bibliographies and in-text Citations.

Our intention is to encourage the Lehman community to think about libraries and library faculty in new and different ways. In fact, we see ourselves as a Center of Innovation that leads the campus and motivates faculty and students to embrace new technologies.

Librarians pride ourselves in frequently being the first on campus to work with new technologies. We’re always seeking creative ways to incorporate them into instruction and research as a bridge to accessing and evaluating the complex and fascinating world of information.

We aspire to transform the processes of teaching and learning – which ultimately empowers our students as independent learners and fosters a rich, dynamic environment for inquiry, dialogue, research and scholarship.
