The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York makes many of its publications available for free. Beautiful color reproductions make these digital books a treat to browse or search.
Allows you to search or browse for artists and has a useful glossary of modern art terms. Artist results include images and biographical information drawn from other sources.
The Neue Galerie is a museum in New York dedicated to 20th-century Austrian and German art. Their site has good images and informative biographical essays on major artists.
Photo RMN France
Photos of artwork from many museums in France. Though it draws from French museums, it includes art from all over Europe and the world.
