This guide along with the LEH 100 library workshop is aimed at giving students an overview of the library's services.

Library Services


  • Location of textbooks for classes
  • Required readings also placed here by instructors
  • Adjacent to Circulation Desk on first floor of library
  • Items can be borrowed with a valid Lehman ID Card
  • Textbook borrowing is limited to a 2-hour period, in the library
  • To request a textbook you must provide the book's call number. Look for Call Numbers at
  • To request a required reading reserved by your instuctor, please provide the class course number. Look on your syllabus or current semester bill for course number.

    Reference Desk & Reference Area

    • Reference Desk: location where Librarians assist with reference questions
    • Handouts are available for APA, MLA styles and other subject guides 
    • Reference Area: location for reference books that provide biographies, literary criticism, definitions, statistics, maps, descriptions of important facts and events.

    Computers & Printing

    • PC's, iMac's, two printers and a Help Desk are located on the first floor of the library, in front of the reference desk.
    • There is also a Computer Lab in the north side of the Concourse level, Room B27A which has PC's, iMacs, two printers and a scanner.
    • You may go to any computer that is available. There is no sign-up required for computer use.
    • Printing: Available on the library's first floor, Computer Lab-Room B27A and third floor
    • The Academic I.T. Center, located on the first floor of Carman Hall, also provides access to computers, printing and scanning.

    Reference Books

    • Located on the first floor, near the Reference Desk
    • Reference books include: almanacs, atlases, dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, gazeteers, handbooks, maps, thesauri, yearbooks
    • Reference Books may be used onsite only.

    Activate your Lehman ID card at the Circulation Desk to request books from other CUNY college libraries.
