This Guide will provide background information on the Bloomberg Terminal resource. The majority of information has kindly been shared by Frans Albarillo of the Brooklyn College Library

The Bloomberg terminal is a premier international financial services database providing news and analytics for over 129 countries and 250 exchanges. Features include 24-hour historical and 15-minute delayed securities pricing in addition to news, data, and analysis on companies, markets and economies. Lehman College has introduced one Bloomberg Terminal, housed in the Leonard Lief Library, commencing Spring Term 2018.

Usage Policy: Only current students, staff, or faculty can use the Bloomberg Professional terminals. Each user is limited to 90 minutes, and priority is given to students and faculty of the Economics & Business Department.

Location & Reservation information: There is one Bloomberg Professional terminal in the Library.  You must reserve a time slot online and then register at the Circulation Desk on the 1st Floor of the Library.

Room Guidelines and Bloomberg Terminal Policies

Bloomberg Terminal Room [312] is designated for current Lehman students, faculty, and staff conducting research specifically utilizing the Bloomberg resource or Certification module.

Guidelines for Room Use

Scheduling

  1. Use LibCal (in the box to the right) to schedule Consultations.  After that, sign in for the key at the Circulation Desk.
  2. Please respect Scheduling period designated uses
  3. Enter Appointments promptly to avoid conflicts
  4. Room may be scheduled for half an hour periods (90 minute limit per day)
  5. There is a limit of 2 students per booking.
  6. The reservation is held for 15 minutes. After that, it is given away to the next person who books it. 
  7. Key is available from first floor Circulation Desk.  Please return Key promptly after use.  Overtime use will result in library fines.
  8. Users may borrow print edition of Bloomberg Terminal Instructions from Reserve Desk on first floor. PDFs available on the desktop.
  9. Students and Faculty registering for research use may consult Business Librarian, Martha Lerski, x7763, who can assist if feasible.

Protocol

  1. Room is available for Lehman College students, faculty, and staff only
  2. Room remains locked when not in use
  3. Please report technology issues promptly to Raymond Diaz, x7772
  4. Registered User is responsible for leaving Room neat and orderly
  5. Please leave Instruction Binder in the Room.  Users may also borrow Reserve Desk copy.
